How to send files marked URGENT
There are two ways to mark the file as urgent. The Quikscribe Recorder software allows you to easily program the a button on the hand control microphone (such as Philips SpeechMike) to “Send” the file to a default transcription location. By just holding the Send button for 2 seconds you can easily mark the file as URGENT. OR - if you have the Send File panel enabled, you may select the desired destination, and click the drop-down box to mark the file as URGENT.
The transcriptionist then receives a red flag notification that an urgent file is waiting to be transcribed, and the urgent file is highlighted in red and placed at the top of the queue.

Send Audio Emails
If you get tired of typing emails all the time, try sending an audio email instead. The benefits of audio email are that it saves you time, and also let’s the recepient hear your voice, and better understand the tone in which the message was created. Many times, text messages are misinterpreted because the text itself does not communicate the complete message. Only 7% of what we communicate is the message itself. The rest is a combination of body language, and tone of voice. With audio emails, you recapture at least 30% of the communication capability.
If you wish to send your message encrypted, be sure the recipient has Quikscribe Player, and the pass phrase you set in your recorder. If you have a client that you communicate frequently by email, it’s probably worth it to get them a license for the player, so email communications can be secure at all times.

One Click Copy & Paste - capture text with audio
Quikscribe can now cut and paste text from within documents, web pages, computer based research screens, etc., with one click. Simply highlight the text you want to capture with your mouse, and hit the “insert” button on the hand control. A marker containing the selected text will automatically be inserted into the digital dictation file. Click here to watch a brief video on recording with Quikscribe

Barcode scanning with digital dictation files
Quikscribe now has the ability to integrate barcode scanning during the digital dictation process. By pressing a button on the Philips SpeechMike (with Barcode Scanner), a patient or case number is scanned and inserted as a field within the Intelligent Audio File.
This streamlines the recording process to the simple steps of
- Scan
- Record
- Send.
Scanning the identification number creates a new dictation file, the recording process begins, then pressing another button sends the file to transcription.
During transcription, the scanned identification number is displayed (with other pertinent fields) to allow selection of the desired file to open.

Real-Time Dictation for Simultaneous Transcription
The Quikscribe “Real-Time Extraction” program is useful when you have an urgent dictation and you don’t want to wait until you’ve completed the dictation to send it for transcription. The Real-Time Extraction program will send portions of your dictation file immediately to your secretary or transcriptionist, based on the parameters you define.

You open the Real-Time Extraction program, start recording as you usually do with the Quikscribe Recorder, and your secretary starts typing while you’re dictating. It’s just that simple.
